![]() ![]() The travel time is only a couple of hours and the scenery along the way is sooo much more pleasant than driving to the Palm Springs casinos. My husband and I live in Los Angeles and have just fallen in love with Harrah's Rincon. Remember however, this Harrah's IS NOT Las Vegas, so don't expect the moon, when you are in the middle of 'the sticks'. Good selection of eateries IF they are open. Gaming tables limited and poorly staffed. NO free drinks in the casino and bar prices are a bit steep. Downstairs: Isolated location and NOT freeway close. I have no idea what it would cost, but certainly out of my price range. I did visit a corner suite and was blown-away by it's size and furniture. The 'peon rooms' each have a faux balcony that is less than two-feet deep, and most rooms have the sliding glass door locked and cannot be opened ie, no fresh air. Nice bathrooms that are spotless and well maintained. Beds are comfortable but the basketball-sized pillows sound and feel 'crunchy' when compressed. ![]() Upstairs: The rooms are medium-size and extremely clean. Reviewing a hotel/casino is difficult because how much time do you actually spend 'upstairs' as opposed to 'downstairs'? For that reason I will focus on the room. ![]()
